Sound Wave

Sound wave are recognized by your ear. They are noises, sounds or tones.

What are sound waves?

Sound waves are vibrations, which spread in a medium like air, water or similar. The vibrations are caused by any vibrating (and therefore moving) object. These objects causing different states of pressure in the air and which make the air vibrate.

How do we recognice the sound waves?

Humans notice sound waves with their ears, but lets start in the beginning. The sound of a guitar is for example created by the vibrating guitar string and it is amplified by the body of the guitar. The sound wave spreads around the guitar and reaches also your ear. By reaching your ear the wave or vibrations influence a very thin skin in your ear which translates the vibrations into signals, which can be recognices by our brain.
